1. General Information

Matsuda's By Green Acres, LLC is a wholesale nursery supplying live plants and related materials to trade and professional customers. Because we work with living products, our delivery and shipping practices are designed to protect plant quality and ensure safe handling.

By placing an order that requires delivery or shipment, you agree to the terms outlined in this Shipping & Delivery Policy.

2. Service Area

We primarily serve customers in Sacramento and the surrounding Northern California region. Delivery availability depends on:

  • Distance from our nursery at 10600 Florin Rd, Sacramento CA 95830

  • Order size, plant types, and loading requirements

  • Truck and route availability on requested dates

Delivery to areas outside our normal service radius may be offered on a case‑by‑case basis and is subject to a custom quote and scheduling availability.

3. Delivery Options

Depending on your location and order size, we may offer:

  • Local Nursery Delivery (Preferred)

    • Delivered by our own trucks or contracted nursery carriers

    • Delivery fee based on distance, order size, and routing

    • Date and time window confirmed in advance with our office

  • Customer Pickup (Will‑Call)

    • Orders can be picked up at:
      Matsuda's By Green Acres
10600 Florin Rd, Sacramento CA 95830

    • Pickup must be scheduled in advance during business hours

    • Customers are responsible for bringing suitable vehicles and securing loads

  • Freight / Common Carrier (Limited)

    • For select orders, palletized shipments may be arranged with common carriers

    • Availability depends on plant type, size, and regulatory requirements

Specific options and costs for your order will be confirmed at the time of ordering.

4. Order Processing & Scheduling

  • Orders should be placed in advance to allow time for pulling, staging, and quality checks.

  • Typical processing time is 2–5 business days after order confirmation and, where required, receipt of deposit or payment.

  • Delivery and pickup dates are scheduled; an order is not considered confirmed for a specific date until our team has provided written or verbal confirmation.

  • During peak seasons, lead times may be longer. We encourage you to plan ahead for large projects or time‑critical installs.

You will be notified of:

  • Estimated “ready” date

  • Proposed delivery or pickup date/time window

  • Any special handling or access requirements

5. Minimums, Delivery Fees, and Terms

You can adjust numbers to match your real policy:

  • Order Minimums for Delivery

    • A minimum order value and/or quantity may be required for delivery service.

    • Orders below the minimum may be pickup‑only or subject to a higher delivery fee.

  • Delivery Fees

    • Calculated based on distance from the nursery, order size, route efficiency, and any special handling needs.

    • Fees will be quoted at the time of order or before delivery is scheduled.

  • Payment Terms

    • Prepayment, deposit, or established account terms may be required before delivery is scheduled.

    • Any unpaid balances may delay order release or delivery.

6. On‑Site Delivery Requirements

To ensure safe and efficient delivery:

  • The customer must provide accurate directions, site access details, and a responsible contact person for the delivery day.

  • The delivery site must be accessible to our trucks, including adequate road access, turning radius, overhead clearance, and safe staging/unloading area.

  • Unless otherwise agreed in writing, customer is responsible for unloading all material upon arrival, with reasonable assistance from our driver within safety guidelines.

  • If additional equipment is required on site (forklift, skid steer, extra labor), it is the customer’s responsibility to arrange, unless previously agreed as part of the delivery.

If the site is not ready, inaccessible, or unable to receive the order at the scheduled time, waiting time and/or redelivery fees may apply.

7. Risk of Loss and Plant Condition

  • Live plants may experience some stress during transport despite careful handling. We load and secure material to minimize damage and maintain quality.

  • For deliveries using our trucks, risk of loss generally transfers upon delivery at the agreed drop location.

  • For shipments via common carrier or third‑party freight, risk of loss typically transfers to the customer once the carrier takes possession of the order.

Customers should plan to water and properly stage plants promptly after delivery to maintain health.

8. Inspection and Claims

Inspection at Delivery

  • Please inspect all plants and materials at the time of delivery or pickup.

  • For deliveries, note any visible damage, shortages, or discrepancies on the delivery receipt before signing.

  • Take photos of any concerns (plant quality, breakage, container damage, etc.) as soon as possible.

Reporting Issues

  • Any issues with plant condition, shortages, or incorrect items should be reported within a reasonable window (for example, within 24 hours of delivery or pickup).

  • Contact us at wholesale@matsudasnursery.org or 916.423.3157 with:

    • Order or invoice number

    • Delivery/pickup date

    • Description of the issue

    • Supporting photos, if applicable

We will review your claim and, at our discretion, may offer replacement, credit, or other resolution in accordance with our terms and plant quality standards.

9. Weather, Seasonality, and Delays

  • Extreme heat, cold, storms, or hazardous conditions may require us to delay or reschedule deliveries to protect plant health and ensure driver safety.

  • If we adjust your delivery due to weather or other conditions beyond our control, we will notify you as soon as reasonably possible to coordinate a new date/time.

  • Delivery windows are estimates and may be affected by traffic, mechanical issues, or route changes. Such delays do not constitute a breach of this policy.

For critical installation dates, please discuss scheduling with us early so we can recommend appropriate timing.

10. Shipping Restrictions

Due to plant health regulations, logistics, and carrier rules:

  • Certain plant species may not be shipped to specific regions.

  • We do not ship to P.O. Boxes.

  • Some large, fragile, or specimen plants may be available delivery‑only within a defined radius and not suitable for standard freight.

If your order includes restricted items or destinations, we will contact you to adjust or remove those items and discuss alternatives.

11. Changes, Cancellations, and Rescheduling

  • Changes to orders (quantities, items, or delivery dates) should be requested as early as possible.

  • Orders that have already been pulled, staged, or loaded may be subject to restocking or handling fees if changed or cancelled.

  • Late cancellations or rescheduling requests may incur additional charges, especially during peak season or for special‑order material.

  • If you need to reschedule an agreed delivery date, we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate a new date based on truck and staff availability.

Specific fees and timelines may also be governed by your account terms or sales agreement.

12. Policy Updates

Matsuda's By Green Acres, LLC may update this Shipping & Delivery Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our operations, service area, or regulatory requirements.

The version in effect when your order is confirmed will apply to that order.
